July is the time to jump into advocacy at any level! Take a look below at the ways you can get involved and make an impact.
- Request a meeting with your Senators and Representative: This is the most direct and impactful action we can all take right now. You can use the “Contact” page on your legislator’s website to request a meeting, or email [email protected] for help getting started.
- Members of the House of Representatives will be at home in their districts until July 12, and then again from July 24-31. This means you can request an in-person meeting near your home. You can also request to meet virtually on a video call, and FASD United would be happy to attend with you!
- The Senate is still deciding how to fund different programs and services for 2027, and it is critical that FASD stays on the agenda. We strongly encourage everyone to request meetings with your two Senators or their staff to discuss FASD. Please email [email protected] for support or to let us know if you are requesting meetings!
- Attend a Weekly Drop-In: Looking to meet other advocates, share information, ask a question, or just learn more about the FASD advocacy community? Join our Weekly Policy Drop-In Wednesdays at 12 p.m. ET. This is an informal meeting on Zoom and is a great chance to learn more and get started.
- Check out the Monthly Policy Forum: July’s Policy Forum on July 29 at 2:00 p.m. ET will feature new advocacy documents to use when meeting with legislators and information for those attending Hill Day in September or other meetings with legislators.
