With nationwide support from advocates, the SUPPORT Act, with the FASD Respect Act language included in it, passed the House on June 4th, 2025. The FASD community demonstrated its political will with strong, visible support. This is a major victory!
Now that the bill has passed the House, we move on to the Senate. While we don’t have dates yet for when the bill will be heard in the Senate, however we anticipate that it will likely be mid-July.
What can you do next?
- Direct call and email outreach to House offices
I’m calling/emailing to thank the Representative for the passage of the SUPPORT Act, and to ask them to ensure that the authorized funding is appropriated to support the provisions in section 104 regarding Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders, because those programs will have a direct, positive impact on my community/family/organization. - Direct call and email outreach to Senate offices
I’m calling/emailing to ask my Senator for the passage of the SUPPORT Act, specifically the provisions in section 104 regarding Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders, because those programs will have a direct, positive impact on my community/family/organization. These provisions are from S. 391, the FASD Respect Act, introduced by Senators Murkowski and Klobuchar, and are included in the Support Act, just passed by the House. - Collect public statements or endorsements for Senate Bill S.391, The FASD Respect Act
