Steps to Advocacy

- Contact your Congressional Representative
- Ask companies, agencies, and organizations to sign on to a letter of support
Helpful Documents
1. Connect with your Senators
Each state has 2 federal Senators, both of whom represent you. Contact both of your Senators through their website (some will have schedule a meeting as an option – use that if possible, if not just use their contact form) and ask them to support the bill. If you are able to send attachments, consider attaching the Helpful Documents at the top of the page. You are asking your senators for support and co-sponsorship of S. 1800 – we’d love to meet with them to talk about it.

What happens if I get a meeting?
Great! Contact Chris Melfi in the policy office at [email protected] or (202) 785-4585. We will set up a practice call with Jenn Wisdahl and arrange for members of the FASD United Policy Team to join you for your meeting and support you in answering any questions about the bill.
2. Next, Contact Your Representative
You have one Congressional Representative (also referred to as your Congressman, Congresswoman or Representative) that is tied to the part of your state where you live. Once you have emailed both your Senators, contact your Congressional Representative by clicking on their name (it will link to their website where you can contact them), and ask them to support the bill. Not sure who your rep is? Click here to find out. You are asking your Rep for support and co-sponsorship of H.R. 3946 – we’d love to meet with them to talk about it.
