Cut and paste the text below to ask your Senators for their support in co-sponsoring the FASD Respect Act. Please note – the text below is intended to be sent to Senators. If you are emailing your Representative, click here instead. This message will likely go to a Legislative Staffer, that’s ok, meeting with them is a good thing too.

I would like to connect with you briefly, joined by a couple of my stakeholder colleagues, to describe the enormous impact of FASD in our state (it is over 2 times as prevalent as Autism Spectrum Disorder) and the importance of strengthening the federal response to prevent Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders and help those individuals and families impacted by the disability.

Professionals, families, and adults in our state impacted by FASD are advocating for the passage of the FASD Respect Act (H.R. 3946/S.1800). This comprehensive bi-partisan legislation was introduced in the Senate by Senators Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), and in the House by Representatives Don Bacon (R-NE) and Betty McCollum (D-MN).

I hope we can meet by phone or zoom, and that the senator will consider becoming a sponsor of this important legislation.

Thank you! This legislation is a lifeline for people with FASD and families like mine.
