Traditionally, FASD Awareness is celebrated on September 9th each year, with awareness events occurring throughout the month. Submitting a State Proclamation request is one way to raise awareness and make sure FASD is included in the broader conversations happening right now in the disability space. Check out FASDUnited.org to see what we have planned for FASD Awareness Month later this year!
We will be tracking which states take action, so be sure to let us know if you submit a request or if your state decides to issue an FASD Awareness Day Proclamation! Reach out to [email protected] for assistance.

We have included two sample proclamations that you are welcome to use or change based on your priorities and what you think will have the most impact in your state. These are just examples of non-stigmatizing language that inform the public on the complexities of FASD while painting an accurate picture of the supports needed. Additionally, we have included several past actual proclamations, should you wish to see more examples.
