We hope you were able to join us for the last Policy Forum of 2023, but you can view the recording below in case you missed it!

Pathway to Law

During this month’s Forum Jenn Wisdahl, FASD United COO and Policy Team Member, was very excited to announce that the FASD Respect Act was included in the Senate’s SUPPORT Reauthorization Act, which passed through the Senate HELP Committee. The House of Representatives passed a version of the SUPPORT Reauthorization Act that did not include the FASD Respect Act Language. This means that once the SUPPORT Act passes through both the House and the Senate floor votes, leadership from both the House and the Senate will meet to decide what will stay in the final bill.

What Do We Do Now?

  • Continue to ask for co-sponsors for the FASD Respect Act
  • Research what state agencies might best house an FASD program in your state.
  • Look into which players at a state level should be involved from disability groups/state agencies and plan how to connect with them
