Rep. Lori Trahan [D-MA-3] is the newest cosponsor of HR.3946, the FASD Respect, making her the third Congressperson from Massachusetts to cosponsor the bill. Advocates Kristen Erikson and Reuben Kittrell of massFAS, with the help of parents also from the state, have led the advocacy efforts in Massachusetts. The FASD Respect Act did not have any cosponsors from the New England state during the 117th Congress, and the coordination and hard work of local advocates is making the difference during the 118th Congress.

With the support of Rep. Trahan, the FASD Respect Act now has 50 cosponsors in the House! As we move into April the focus is still on meeting with your two Senators and one Congressperson, urging them to cosponsor the FASD Respect Act. If you would like support reaching out to legislators, preparing for meetings, or attending meetings you can email melfi@fasdunited.org or call (202) 785-4585 and ask for Chris.
