Two new documents that will aid in your advocacy efforts are now posted to the Legislative Staffer page: one explaining the FASD Respect Act Background & Rationale and another showing how the FASD Respect Act language will be incorporated into the U.S. Code.
The Background and Rationale document walks you (and your legislators) through the basics of FASD and the history of FASD informed legislation. It also explains why the FASD Respect is needed and what we all hope to gain from its passage. Most helpful, perhaps, is the Section Summary of FASD Respect Act portion of this document. This section provides the contents of the bill in plain, everyday language making it easier to read and communicate about.
The document detailing how this bill’s language will be incorporated into the U.S. code provides even more useful information to Legislators and their staff and can aid you in the being the most effective advocate you can be. We urge you to use these documents to encourage support of S. 1800/ HR. 3946!
