Did you know, that 1 in 20 Americans may have a FASD or Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder? FASD is an umbrella term describing the range of diagnosable medical conditions that can occur in an individual prenatally exposed to alcohol. These effects may include physical, mental, behavioral, and/or learning disabilities with lifelong implications. Also see H.R. 3946, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Research, Services and Prevention (FASD Respect) Act which would direct funds to awareness and research critical to the education and prevention of FASD. Co-leads: Bacon (R-NE) and McCollum (D-MN). For questions or to cosponsor, contact Matt (Bacon) at [email protected], or Sophia (McCollum) at [email protected].
